Every patient has questions when they present in our office. It's only natural...and we encourage it! Below is an ongoing list of some of the most commonly asked questions patients have for us.
In no particular order, or ranking of importance, patients come to our office to seek relief from pains including but not limited to: headaches, neck pain, back pain, sports injuries, automobile accident injuries, pregnancy pains, arthritis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, sciatica pain, tingling and numbness in fingers and toes, digestive disorders, stress, and much more.
We are always welcoming new patients into our office and we do our best to find a time convenient for you to be seen.
Absolutely, we treat everyone in need! We've treated thousands of children (from newborns, to infants, to teens) and they typically respond extremely well and usually quicker than most adults. Whether they've injured themselves participating in sports, cheer, or sustained injuries from car accidents etc, we definitely can help.
Same thing applies to the elderly. As people age and slow down and their joints and muscles lose a little more mobility, we can assist in getting those joints and muscles to move more fluidly. Whether they suffer from arthritis, osteoporosis, and other common signs of natural aging - we can help.
Yes! We are approved providers for the following companies:
Blue Cross/Blue Shield (including Advantage, Options, Care, Choice, Select, State Employees Plan, Federal Employees Plan, PPO's, Medicare Supplement Plans, Out of State), Cigna Healthcare, HealthSpring, MedCost, Inclusive Health, Primary Physician Care (Healthgram), United Health, Optum Health.
If you have questions about your coverage and options, contact your insurance carrier (most numbers are on the backs of your insurance cards) or feel free to contact our office and we'll try our best to look into your chiropractic coverage.
It depends. Each individual has a different body, presents in the office for different reasons (car accident, headaches, low back pain, tingling and numbness in the extremities, etc) has different symptoms, has different severity or his/her symptoms etc - therefore there is no one right answer for the question. Typically, you can expect a series of visits (anywhere from 5-20) in order to begin to feel as good as you were feeling prior to the incident/event that brought you to our door.
We don't really like to look at this question as 'will I HAVE to come back'...so much as, 'WHEN should I come back to ensure I keep feeling this good'? Our intent is to get you feeling the best you can - as soon as we can! Our hope thereafter is that through our adjustments and treatments, and our thorough education related to your specific condition you'll learn and understand the signs your body tells you when it's time to come back for a 'tune-up'.
As a diversified chiropractor, Dr. Sherwood has an array of 'tools' to aid in your adjustment. The first and most reliable is her hands - otherwise known as 'manual adjusting'. She is also trained in Activator protocols (using a small, hand-held almost staple-like instrument that when pushed delivers a short, yet powerful push). In addition, we have tables and other specific equipment meant to relieve muscle tightness and aid in your health recovery.
